Sisters. Strangers. Survivors.
More than twenty years ago, Claire and Lydia’s teenaged sister Julia vanished without a trace. The two women have not spoken since, and now their lives could not be more different. Claire is the glamorous trophy wife of an Atlanta millionaire. Lydia, a single mother, dates an ex-con and struggles to make ends meet. But neither has recovered from the horror and heartbreak of their shared loss—a devastating wound that's cruelly ripped open when Claire's husband is killed.
The disappearance of a teenage girl and the murder of a middle-aged man, almost a quarter-century apart: what could connect them? Forming a wary truce, the surviving sisters look to the past to find the truth, unearthing the secrets that destroyed their family all those years ago . . . and uncovering the possibility of redemption, and revenge, where they least expect it.
Powerful, poignant, and utterly gripping, packed with indelible characters and unforgettable twists, Pretty Girls is a masterful novel from one of the finest writers working today.

User reviews about this book

  • Quite possibly the scariest book I’ve ever read

    By TRI3434
Do not read this book if you can’t handle a horrifying psycho thriller that details rape, torture, and murder. It is suspenseful and a page turner, but only to find yourself left with an eerie, uneasy feeling. I was able to finish the book, but I probably could have gone through life without reading it.

This was an amazing book, written with so much feeling, couldn’t put it down....I never rate a book 5⭐️ but this definitely was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  • Perfectly flawed

    By REJ 876
A face paced and exciting read. Graphic, yes. Heart breaking, yes. But also an excellent representation of true character and how merciless people can really be. SPOILER: My only issue was Paul’s “fake death”, it’s unbelievability cheapened the otherwise great storyline.
  • Disturbingly twisted.. obsessed!

I loved this book!! One of the most twisted pieces I’ve read that really captivated my attention.. as soo. As I finished I sent it to all of my closest friends (aka the crazy ones)

  • Way too dark and gruesome

So, so dark. It was horrible and I wish I could un-read it.

Did not like this book at all. Way too graphic and disturbing.
  • Heartbreakingly wonderful

    By rickysbud
Not for the faint of heart, but worth the disturbance. If you’ve lost a family member in a traumatic way it grips you from understanding the characters pain and longing to know the truth.
  • Disturbing. Twisted. LOVE!

Absolute love for this book. Idk if it’s the disturbance of it or the twisted and flawed characters but I love this book. If anyone asks what they should read, this is always my go to book. I love the reactions I receive from people who read it.
