  • Sorry not sorry this book is a disappointment...

I bought this book after my mother said it was supposed to be really great and we should read it together. I tried very hard to get to page 80 (they say that you shouldn’t give up on a book until at least that point), but it was just so repetitive and religious. If you’re looking for religion that’s fine, nothing wrong with that! However, the entire book is basically “Say I Am *positivity insert* to yourself over and over again” and relates it to a story from the BOM or Bible. If I wanted to read those stories I would go pick up one of those books. There is no depth to this book, just his own words telling Christian stories. Make sure you try a sample of it before purchasing. And if you’re looking for a motivational pick me up, this will last you about a week. I would say try out any of Malcom Gladwell's books.
  • Life changer

Highly recommend reading this book and encouraging others to do the same. Before reading this book, I never realized how much I talk negatively about my own self, whether jokingly or not, it's not how we should live day by day. This book allows us to reprogram our way of thinking, and it's also funny and very entertaining. Thank you Joel, may God's anointing continue to be on you Sir.
  • A SNAKE selling snake oil.

He dilutes both the Bible and the basic principles of self help simply to maximize his following and make more money selling a feel-good message that's not rooted in anything. He's a former sales person who stumbled into a lucrative position running a church and took it from there, no personal conviction or consistency, just greed.

I Am? The name God called himself? You now call yourself God and invite blessings and health on yourself. This is a false teaching. If you are serious about knowing God read the bible and not Joel Osteen. God will give you the honest truth and it's better than this despicable, unbiblical nonsense... He's rich off this... Ugh

  • Shame on those who are HATING on Osteen.

Joel Osteen is a wonderful person and a very spiritual man by nature, and his books have brought genuine comfort to me over the years. Whoever says he's "false" and a "liar" are just delusional Religion fanatics. He's a minister who translates the Bible's messages in an EASY-to-understand way. This is not twisting the messages nor changing them. His books are easy to understand, informative, and most of all inspiring and comforting. We are All God's children, and Osteen has the right like any other of His children to preach the Bible in a simpler manner. He's not the "Antichrist" or a bad person. He's the complete opposite. So all of you weirdos who take every verse of the Bible literally, stop hating on Osteen. His goal is to spread positivity and you're just trying to drown it out with your negative energy and pessimism. I feel sorry for you. His book is great. 5/5 stars
  • Fantastic book

Joel is right on. I need to be reminded of these principals because this is what has brought me from a waitress to a founder of a company that employees 26 people. This man is blessed and he shares these principals. Thank you for helping me change my life.
  • Awful Unbiblical Theology!

Well, what can you expect from an Osteen book? He twists Scriptures as naturally as breathing. I suggest that his followers would take a break from reading his books, go back to reading the Bible, asking the Holy Spirit for illumination, and try reading Osteen's book again without gagging. Be like the Bereans (Acts 17:11)
