The Year We Fell Down Sarina Bowen Book Review Score: ★★★★★ 5/5 stars

My whole life changed in the blink of an eye.

I was supposed to start college on the Harkness Women’s Hockey team. But I’m showing up in a wheelchair instead.

Everything about my new life is difficult, and there’s only one person who understands. Across the hall, in the other handicapped-accessible dorm room, lives the too-delicious-to-be real Adam Hartley. His leg is broken in two places.

We bond over broken elevators and hockey games. We’re just friends, of course, until one night when things fall apart. Or fall together. All I know is that I’m falling. Hard.

But can Hartley love someone as broken as me? His deep brown eyes hold their own demons. While my troubles are visible for everyone to see, his are hidden deep inside…

If you love charming, hockey player heroes and friends-to-lovers match-ups, download The Year We Fell Down today!

  • Love!!!

    By Bludazie
I don't know why or how I waited so long to read this one! I'm kicking myself now, because I loved every tension filled second! Hartley and Corey are an amazing sports romance couple right up there with the best of them! This book will tear at your heartstrings and let you know relive the first stirrings of young love...and maybe even a bit of feeling an unrequited love. I even had an actual tear from this one and that's super hard to come by these days! It was such a real and sweet moment. I loved their friendship first and then their love for each other.

Awesome read! Enjoyed the characters very much, their maturity and bravery. Will be looking to read more by this author! They only thing I didn’t care for were the grammar errors, they were distracting.

This was the first Sarina Bowen book I've read and it made a fan. I enjoy an occasional NA book and anything with a sports angle has got me hooked. The characters were sweet and I loved how they started as friends. Thank you for a great HEA story.
  • Simply amazing!

This book is my go to reread when I'm in a book rut. This book has complex characters, a well fleshed out story line, secondary characters you can't wait to learn more about, steamy scenes, & that perfect HEA. I highly recommend this book.

This book is fantastic, filled with so much emotion & passion. Truly showed the side of someone with a disability & how they want to be treated the same as anyone else.

  • When we fell

This amazing start to a 5* series begins with Corey starting college and moving in with her roommate. She meets her neighbor, Adam Hartley, who lives across the hall. Hartley played hockey with her older brother, and treats her like a little sister for most of the semester. Since they are both disabled for the time being, she is in a wheelchair and he has crutches for now, they share meals and such together. They get to know one another and become good friends. Is that all there is? Corey cannot help but fall for her friend who she has so much in common with. He is just so attractive and fun. Hartley, bless him, does not suspect a thing. He lovingly refers to them together as the "gimps" and takes it all in stride. When it all changes, can Corey be the priority? I found this story to be so terrific! Fun, inspirational, and hot. This is a keeper for the shelf.
