Freedom is so close Gabby can taste it. After years of meeting single werewolves and successfully dodging the mating bullet, she's on her way to her last Introduction to say "No, thanks" one final time. As a human, she has no plans to attach herself to a werewolf. But, she didn’t count on meeting Clay.

With a single look, Gabby knows Clay is the one. And unfortunately, he knows it too. The silent, ruggedly-handsome werewolf is determined to win his mate by any means necessary. Gabby does what any sane girl would do and runs. Not only does Clay follow, but something truly dangerous does as well.

Now, hunted for the secrets she’s spent her whole life protecting, Gabby must turn to the one man she didn't want for the help she needs. Time is running out to discover who or what wants her, and Gabby’s just starting to realize there’s more at stake than the heart and freedom of one human girl.

This book is awesome, Melissa Haag writes awesome werewolf books! I have all her books so far, and have re-read at least 3 times each. Can't wait for the last book in "The Judgement of the Six" series to come out. I couldn't put these down & end up staying up all night reading. Highly reccomend this series!

  • Excellent Read - Hope(less)

'A Beastly Tale' series by M.J.Haag got me here wanting for more and I wasn’t disappointment. I was captivated from the first sentence and the last one left me begging for more. It’s a fantastic start to a very promising series. I fell in love with Clay and Gabby’s story and the character development thrown in with revelations and mysteries along the way fueled my curiosity. Gabby, a gifted human, feels the 'Mate pull' for Clay, the werewolf, and is in denial but Clay doesn’t give up. Clay's approach to making Gabby realize that they are meant to be Together is a stroke of Genius. I commend Melissa Haag’s writing that Clay communicates so uniquely with Gabby throughout the book (not wanting to REVEAL the highlight) and endears himself to his readers. A Must Read!

  • Meh, no thank you

I had to force myself to finish this book. I don't need the details of your time in the shower. I feel like there was so much insignificant details. This book dragged on forever, I kept waiting for it to get better but it never happened. The 'hero' is mute for nearly the entire book which I understand is unique but it takes away from the book. Ugh, even now it's hard to remember anything that stood out as memorable.

I just wanted to let you guys know that the other books in the series are connect! They are all from other girls points of views but there are a lot of the same characters and even cameos by main characters from other books.

Melissa Haag is a great fix for any Kelley Armstrong fan waiting for the next Omen’s book. Haven’t found a Haag book I haven’t liked. Clay and Gabby are the perfect start to a fantastic series.
  • Wonderful!

Highly recommended, great writing. Who wouldn't want their own Clay? I never felt like a was just reading words with improperly developed characters, I felt like I was experiencing it.
  • One of the best!

I have read so many books that have no character development or depth, that after reading three books in the series your board and just want to finish to finish. This series is NOT like that! I could not put these books down for a minute. Haag knows how to write and develops each of her characters perfectly and leaves you wanting more. Don't stop after this book, keep reading this series, it will hold your attention!
