Heart Raider Sophia Knightly Book Review Score: ★★★★★ 5/5 stars

He's a hot billionaire caught in a fever-pitch scandal. She's the gutsy reporter out to clear his name...and claim his heart. But will she make it off of the secluded island alive?

After a raging media storm nearly destroys him, financial whiz Nick Cameron is laying low on a secluded island off the Florida coast, far away from reporters and scandals.

But when Ronnie shows up on the reclusive billionaire's doorstep, all grown up and breathtakingly beautiful, he tries to deny his feelings for her. Fate intervenes and a hurricane strands them on the island together and keeping Ronnie at arm's length becomes the biggest challenge of all.

But investigative reporter Ronnie has an agenda of her own that could get her killed. Ronnie knows there's more to Nick than the hot and juicy scandal he's embroiled in. Determined to get an exclusive interview with her first love, she sets out to expose the real criminal. Though grouchy Nick wants her to leave it alone, Ronnie refuses to sit by while the world slanders the most honorable and decent man she's ever known...and loved.

But Ronnie may have gone too far this time. Will her snooping unleash more danger than she ever imagined?

Let's just start with: I almost didn't finish this book (which is something that I NEVER do), but I did end up finishing, and I regret it. This book is so predictable that despite the fact that it finishes with loads of plot holes and dangling strings, you can still pretty much figure it out. And trust me... There were a LOT of plot holes. And then there are the grammatical errors throughout the book. And the way things are written in general. It made it seem like the book was written by a child, especially with the way things were escalating in the novel: it goes from hate to love in a matter of pages with absolutely no character development. Speaking of characters: the characters seemed as though they were just there to fill some sort of void... Like a drag and drop: you drag them into the story, and once they've served their purpose you just drop them out, so that they're no where to be seen again. Unimportant events dragged on and on, and the parts that could have had more tension were just there with absolutely no elaboration or nuance, making the book seem anticlimactic and just plain straightforward.

The writing was good. A quick read. However, the story was too predictable.

WOW such a wonderful book. I loved how adventurous Ronnie was and how she never doubted Nick. Nick has such a great heart and cares more than he wants to admit. They had such incredible chemistry. I loved the plot with it's humor, suspense and romance. Each book I read by Sophia Knightly just keeps getting better. This is my favorite so far. I can't wait to read more of the Heartthrob series.
