Love is Mortal Caroline Hanson Book Review Score: ★★★★★ 5/5 stars

A determination to survive….

Betrayed by everyone she loves, Valerie Dearborn will do anything to get out of Fey and avoid becoming Cerdwellyn’s queen. Even if it means she has to rely upon Lucas, the monster who betrayed her.

A bid for redemption….

Lucas felt nothing for hundreds of years, but Valerie’s blood has changed everything. Forced to confront his sins, he’ll do what he can to help Valerie survive. Even if it costs him his life.
A destiny cut short….

Cerdwellyn, King of the Fey lost his true queen centuries ago. He’s determined to make Valerie her replacement, but ghosts from his past have other plans.

The end of the story.

As Valerie struggles to survive she must choose between reality and illusion, between sacrifice and love, all in hopes of figuring out the truth: that if you love someone you must be willing to make the ultimate sacrifice.

  • Worth it

    By GimmeGimme21086
I read this trilogy quickly, it was interesting and attention holding. While not a new subject - vampires, witches, werewolves, love triangles with humans have been done to death! - the books really had a unique spin to them. Or perhaps it was the vivid characterizations, the amazing relationship and world building that sucked me in. You really come to care about the characters, which isn’t always the case. I didn’t like how some descriptors are used repeatedly, but besides that not too much to complain about! Love Lucas and Valerie’s relationship, as well as her relationship with Jack which is so relatable - even if they are vampire hunters. Definitely some “clutch my pearls” moments! Steamy! I rarely buy books and I bought these so that is more of an endorsement from me than any words I could write!
  • Really?

Only gave this 3 stars due to the odd open ending.. Leave the readers hanging like that with no fourth book?? Yes I enjoyed the books but there was no finalization that readers should get to fully quench their thirst for the characters. Aww they live happily ever after.. NOT! What the heck was that all about? If you wanted to sell another book.. Write it! Don't leave it like that.
