Exclusive Sandra Brown Book Review Score: ★★★★★ 5/5 stars
An ace reporter investigates the suspicious death of her best friend's baby in this #1 New York Times bestselling political thriller of murder, passion, and intrigue in the White House.
Barrie Travis is not famous; she's just a damn good reporter stuck at a low-budget television station. Then, her old friend -- now America's First Lady -- asks her to investigate the death of her baby. Stunned by grief after the loss of her infant son, the President's wife hints that her child didn't really die of SIDS; in reality, he may have been murdered.
Blind to everything but finding the truth, Barrie delves into the private lives of the president and his wife and uncovers dark and terrible secrets that will test her ethics, her patriotism, and her courage. With the help of Gray Bondurant, a mysterious former presidential aide, this story could topple the presidency and change the course of history.
In this fast-moving tale from a master of suspense, Barrie must fight powerful forces that want nothing more than to see the scandalous past -- and a certain young reporter -- dead and buried.

User reviews about this book
Be wary of Sandra Brown books, evidently someone in her organization is listing old books, this one was published in July 1996, as new because they are now in e book format.
A disgrace for such a good author.

This is one of the most disappointing and poorly written book by Sandra Brown. The book is a cliche and also full of cliches. I sincerely doubt I will purchase another one.
My advice? Do not waste your money or time.
Don't blame the Author!

I understand the frustrations of reviewers, regarding the feelings of being deceived. I, too, would be angry to buy a book and then realize I'd already read it. I do NOT think it's fair to place the blame on the author by giving her/his book a poor review. The blame lies with iBooks and therefore people should place their complaints with THEM, not the AUTHOR nor the BOOK!!
Wonderful "thriller". Surprises at every turn of events. A real "page turner".
Sandra Brown has an outstanding talent for writing mystery thrillers, weaving in hot love scenes in a realistic manner.
The twists and turns this story took were great and kept me on the edge of my seat most of the time.
Always riveting, always thought provoking! I never get tired of reading a Sandra brown book!
Wish I had read the reviews! Great book.... The first time I read it!!! Going to look for a new source of books! Can't believe this is legal!
Read this book in 1998 and they advertise it as newly published. Should be illegal!
First released in 1997
Another case of iBooks marketing a more than 15 year old book as "new release"! Before purchase I now research EVERY book I buy to make sure I don't already have it in a bookcase somewhere in the house.
