Breathe Kristen Ashley Book Review Score: ★★★★★ 5/5 stars

Welcome to New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kristen Ashley's Colorado Mountain Series, where friends become family and everyone deserves a second chance.
There's nothing like the first time . . .

In Carnal, Colorado, Faye Goodknight is the town's quiet, shy librarian. She may also be Carnal's last remaining virgin. For years, Faye has had a crush on Chace Keaton, but the gorgeous cop has always been unattainable. She's resigned to live contentedly with only her books for company-until Faye suddenly meets Chace alone in the woods . . .

Chace doesn't think he's the good guy everyone believes him to be. He's made a lot of choices he regrets, including denying his feelings for Faye. Through his choices, he's come to believe the pretty librarian is too good for him, but after their time in the woods, Chace realizes that she may be his last chance for redemption. Soon, their long simmering desires grow to a burning passion. Yet always casting a shadow over their happiness is Chace's dark past . . .

Loved how geeky Faye was and Chace was super hot and very sweet once he pulled his head out and realized Faye would light his dark world.
  • Can't finish this....

I don't like the male character at all. I hate the way he speaks to her. It doesn't matter how gorgeous a man is or how much money he has. I have always been turned off and honestly very scared by men with this kind of temper. This guys temper is off the charts, but hey it seems like we are meant to see past that because he only looses his cool because he cares so much for her. Sound familiar? 'It wasn't my fault because she made me mad. She should have known better'. He tells her to shut up repeatedly and when she asks him to hear her out he tells her to fu@king shut up NOW. Then he starts throwing her stuff including her favorite perfume and smashed it to pieces. I can't ignore my good sense and everything I've always lived by including all the time I warned my daughters about potential warning signs. I think the author wanted us to find him sexy but it had the opposite effect on me. I forgot to mention this tantrum was when he went on her computer (while she was still working) and was acting like he was her chatting with her internet friends. That's itself is another warning. Respect boundaries. And I'll end this review with another complaint. Every man in this book has the same style of speaking. The best way for me to explain it is caveman. They'll say things like don't do that instead of I don't do that. That really wasn't a good example but the men in this story seem to leave off the first word or two in many of their sentences. It was just weird. This is the first book from this author that I have not enjoyed.

This book just grabs you from the first page, that you can’t put it down for anything, even to sleep! By far, this is the best book I have ever read. Both Chace and Faye, the leading characters of this story, have such charisma. Faye has such a soft charm, smart, and educated, while Chace has a tough, masculine beauty. You can’t help but fall in love with them and root them on throughout this story. Well written! Susan Flynn, iBooks
  • Disappointed

I really wish they would note somewhere when these are written in first-person. Very jarring and unreadable.
  • Hilarious, Deep, Righteous

Moving story. Clears up some loose ends and Whoa baby.. The Righteous Rick Chick Returns. Had feeling Serenity was in law enforcement somehow, but I never expected it to turn out to be Ally. So does this make Faye a Rock Chick???

Loved the book! Kind of got to far off topic at the end. It was almost confusing. But had a good ending and that's the only reason I gave it four stars. But 98% of this book was a five star book.
