A Stranger in the Family Patricia McLinn Book Review Score: ★★★★★ 5/5 stars

Three strangers arrive in rugged Bardville, Wyoming. They're never the same... And neither are the people of Bardville.

A sexy, intriguing stranger arrives unexpectedly at her Wyoming ranch, threatening the one thing Cambria protects more fiercely than her heart -- her family.
Bodie's discovery that he fathered a son 17 years ago starts a search that leads him to the warm and welcoming Weston family. But his response to one member of the family is far more than he ever expected. The sparks between him and Cambria are real ... and so is the danger to his hopes for their future if she finds out why he's really in Wyoming.
". . . It's one of those books that when you finish, you think, "I'm definitely going to read that again and everything else this author has ever written!" - Live, Love, Write
Family is the core of the first book of this series, but family is not necessarily simple. As one reader review states, A Stranger in the Family "mixes love, family and complicated situations together. I could not put this book down."

Did not care for the storyline. You weren't if you could root for the main characters since their secrets could tear them apart.

A Stranger in the Family by Patricia McLinn is a story of a father who wants to meet his son after knowing about it for the first time. His girlfriend never told him about his birth, and giving him up for adoption. He searches for him, and finds him. He doesn't know how to go about it, and meanwhile he ends up loving the boy's sister.

I enjoyed reading this book because I like the characters in the story. I like the banter between Boone and Cambria. It was interesting to see how Boone was going to tell them that Pete was his son. After he did the author did not tie the story up with a red ribbon. Instead she went on to explore the feelings of those involved with this big revelation. Showing how they finally worked everything out.

Loved the hero, hated the heroines mean, rude, bitter personality. I was hoping for a twist to pop up like maybe falling for the real mom. Then I realized it was only because the heroine was just so dang rigid/hard... She's a tough nut to like, period.
