Highland Soldiers: The Enemy J.L. Jarvis Book Review Score: ★★★★★ 5/5 stars
Only an enemy soldier could save her life--and her heart.
Highland soldier Callum MacDonell battled lowland Covenanters at the service of the King. Now charged with hunting an assassin, his journey would lead not to justice, but to a murderer's passionate Covenanter sister, Mari McEwan.
Betrayed and abandoned by the man she loved, Mari faced judgment by a tribunal of her people demanding she name the father of her unborn child, or be exiled from everything she knows.
Book 1 in the Highland Soldiers series, Scottish historical romances set during the turbulent Covenanter times of 17th century Scotland.

“Highland Soldiers: The Enemy”by
By J. O'Farrell
J.L. Jarvis is an extremely
exciting historical romance, set in
17th century Scotland. Much of the turmoil in the novel seems so
realistic because the major events
are based on Scottish historical facts. The main characters,
Mari(Marion), Collum and their
four loyal friends, all display
admirable characteristics-honesty, loyalty and open
mindedness. Even though Mari
and Collum meet under less than
desirable circumstances, they
soon set out on a road filled with
many trials and tribulations.
I’m sure you, too, will thank the
author for creating such memorable, loving characters!

A very good story that kept my attention. I am looking forward to reading the other books in the series. The historical facts added to the story.
I really enjoyed this book! I couldn't put it down, was so well written and filled with historical truths.
By Couldn't finish
*spoilers* Almost everything about this book is decent, outside of the main female character. She single handily ruins almost all of their lives, to the point that it seems had her and the male lead not "fallen in love" then things would have been much better for everyone involved. She makes the worst decisions one that ultimately costs one of the beloved characters lives. I read the whole thing but will not be reading the rest of the series.
