My Boyfriend Wrote a Book About Me Hilary Winston Book Review Score: ★★★★★ 5/5 stars

TV writer Hilary Winston offers up a witty collection of autobiographical tales about her misadventures in dating.
Just when Hilary feels like her life is finally in order, she gets a sucker-punch to the gut: Her ex has written a novel based on their relationship in which he refers to her throughout as the “fat-assed girlfriend.” Her response to this affront is just one of the many hilarious stories in My Boyfriend Wrote a Book About Me--a laugh-out-loud, tell-all in which Hilary sets the record straight on all her exes. Hilary Winston was writer and producer of the critically acclaimed comedy Community and was one of the writers for the Emmy®-award-winning show My Name Is Earl. She  is the creator of a new comedy that will air on CBS in early 2014, Bad Teacher.

I saw her on TV and that was her revenge on her boyfriend. So revenge is soooooooo sweet.
  • Sad

I thought it would be a funny memoir but instead it was sad and awkward. It also seemed disjointed, and there were several times where I wished she'd gone into more detail about events that sounded like they had comic potential.

I wouldn't consider myself to be a big reader, but I couldn't put this book down. Quick and very entertaining read. You won't be sorry you purchased it!
  • Ugh...

Can I get my money back please? If you're looking for an extremely long book about a break up, read this. If not, move along because that is all this author obsesses over.
  • Funny and Honest.

Read it! It's funny and brutally honest!!!
  • Eh, it's okay.

I downloaded this book after reading the her ex-boyfriend's infamous book. I wanted to like hers more but I was truly disappointed. I guess it had some funny moments, but I just felt sad for her and guilty for preferring the book of the man who destroyed her. This book wasn't terrible just mediocre in my opinion.

This book was recommended to me by a Barnes & Noble employee after I implored her to help me select a book to commemorate the day I met my husband's girlfriend. Thank you, Amy, for knowing just what I needed! I read this in one day - quite a feat for a mother of five. I laughed so hard in the Starbucks that I had troubled breathing. I am still slightly alarmed that no one called for a paramedic.
  • Like reading a letter from an amusing friend.

An enjoyable light read. Heard the author's voice clearly throughout, liked her a lot.
  • Great read!

That was such a great book. Definitely gave me some insight to the lives that other people live. Gave me some hope, and I am glad to have read something so honest. I really want to know what "Kyles" book is now, but I'm glad that I read this book.
