Chasing Fire Nora Roberts Book Review Score: ★★★★★ 5/5 stars
In this #1 New York Times bestseller, Nora Roberts delves into the world of elite firefighters who thrive on danger and adrenaline—men and women who wouldn’t know how to live life if it wasn’t on the edge.
Little else in life is as dangerous as fire jumping. But there’s also little else as thrilling—at least to Rowan Tripp. Being a Missoula smoke jumper is in Rowan’s blood: her father is a legend in the field. At this point, returning to the wilds of Montana for the season feels like coming home—even with reminders of the partner she lost last season still lingering in the air.
One of the best of this year’s rookie crop, Gulliver Curry is a walking contradiction, a hotshot firefighter with a big vocabulary and a winter job at a kids’ arcade. And though Rowan, as a rule, doesn’t hook up with other smoke jumpers, Gull is convinced he can change her mind...
But everything is thrown off balance when a dark presence lashes out against Rowan, looking to blame someone for last year’s tragedy. Rowan knows she can’t complicate things with Gull—any distractions in the air or on the ground could be lethal. But if she doesn’t find someone she can lean on when the heat gets intense, her life may go down in flames.

User reviews about this book
It was a fun read. I loved the personality of characters. Being a wildland firefighter myself, i found this story line to be somewhat an adrenaline trigger.
I’ve been a NR fan for years. She was the first “grown up” author my mom allowed me to read as a young teen and my love for her storytelling has only grown from there. Whenever I go through a rough patch in life, and I just need an escape, I’ll pick up one of her vast collection and fall into one of her worlds. It’s like hanging out with an old friend.
I had not read this book before and it is seriously one of her best. The characters are engaging and lovable, the suspense is palpable, and the world is expertly crafted. Nora Roberts is an author that takes the time to research what she is writing about and always honors the profession or lifestyle she chooses to place her characters in.
Read this book. It will not disappoint.

All of the characters came alive, the imagery of the life of a Zulie was so vivid. Loved the clever banter between everyone.
A New Experience
I have read dozens of Nora Roberts books and I've loved everyone of them! Chasing Fire was a very interesting book for me because not only did it have the romance that I love but there was also the intrigue and the mystery but especially the detail about what firefighters go through on a daily basis. It gives you a true down to the roots appreciation for what these folks do. A great book! Loved it.
This is a truly outstanding novel. It has mystery, family, action and of course, love. Nora draws you in, sets up the story perfectly. Her characters are fully developed & human. It's a wonderful read!

Another great book
I definitely recommend this book, I just finished reading it a second time. Love all of the Nora Roberts books I have read so far. Looking forward to starting another. Enjoy it
Best story I have read in a long time. I would love to see this on the big screen. Great story!
It was wonderful. Learned a lot about fire jumpers. Is Nora Roberts at her best"
Nora is the queen of romance novels for a reason. She's the best with imagery. Period. Chasing Fire is a testament to that. Even though I had the killer figured out early on, the book still rocked. Not sure why there are so many negative comments about this one. It is head and shoulders above Tribute and much better than The Search. Another winning standalone!
