Can't Hurt Me David Goggins Book Review Score: ★★★★★ 5/5 stars

For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare - poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights. But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a U.S. Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes. The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force Tactical Air Controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events, inspiring Outside magazine to name him The Fittest (Real) Man in America.

In Can't Hurt Me, he shares his astonishing life story and reveals that most of us tap into only 40% of our capabilities. Goggins calls this The 40% Rule, and his story illuminates a path that anyone can follow to push past pain, demolish fear, and reach their full potential.

This book really made me take a look in the mirror and reset my life, and take accountability for who I am and how I’m going to get to who I’d like to be. Great read! Definitely a gem.

  • Motivatibg

I listened to David Goggins on Joe Rogan’s podcast a few years back. He inspired me then to get back on my gym grind. I went through a loss of a child and since October of last year I haven’t been able to get back to myself fully. This book was exactly what I have been needing these past few months. If you need motivation, want to be the best you can everyday, or need help with that chip on your shoulder. This is an amazing book.

  • Uncommon Self-Help/Inspirational Book

    By Pollie303
This book stands out from most others in the ‘Self-Help’ world because it was written by someone who has made overcoming impossible odds into a way of life. Rather than offer easy solutions and short-cuts to create positive change within ourselves, he deeply expounds upon the workings of a mind that is capable of transcending beyond limitations of body and mind. He also lets us into his deepest insecurities, fears and failures as much as he shares his success, and makes it clear that the two are deeply interconnected. He shines a light into the parts of ourselves which we keep conveniently hidden from our conscious mind for the purpose of living a life of comfort, rather than one of greatness. Overall, I walked away from this book knowing that I’ll never quite like David Goggins, but I also walked away fresh out of excuses for not striving to be the best version of myself.
  • Lost inspiration

If you are sensitive to profane language do not buy. This man’s story is very inspiring but so much impact is lost with the excessive swearing.
  • A book all 7.4 Trillion ppl should read.

The secret to success isn’t in a book. It’s between your ears, in your heart, and tied to your spirit. David Goggins thank you.
