Sergeant Sexypants Tawna Fenske Book Review Score: ★★★★★ 5/5 stars
A 2019 RITA AWARD FINALIST!
Bree Bracelyn doesn't date cops. That's a problem, since I am one. Also, I might be in love with her.
But Bree's got a secret I can't figure out. Most folks lace up their goody two-shoes around cops, but Bree's don't fit quite right. There's a story there, but she's guarding it like a tiger with a pet zebra.
And yeah, I know the guy jockeying for police chief should steer clear of a woman with skeletons in her closet, but I can't stay away. I'll find any excuse to visit the resort she owns with her siblings, even trotting out my charming pup, Virginia Woof. I'm not proud.
Between hot springs hookups and grope-fests in my car, Bree's breaking her no-cops rule six ways to Sunday, and I'm grateful. But what'll it take to coax out her secret and convince her I'm not here to slap the cuffs on her?
Not unless she asks me to.

Love the story. All of the authors’ books are so endearing and the quirky characters are definitely likable. A fun read.
This is about the sixth book of yours I’ve read and I love all of them. I enjoy your style of writing; your attention to detail, excellent grammar, sense of humor that often makes me laugh out loud. You are a gifted author, in my opinion, and Im looking forward to reading more your your books.
I only wish Bree had had the self confidence to be rightfully furious with Austin about his invasion of her privacy and abuse of power. He had no right to look into her records and, to me, he committed a much greater sin and was the one that truly needed forgiveness.
Bree Bracelyn is the only sister of a large dysfunctional family. She and her many brothers (same father, different mothers), are launching a luxury resort on the land inherited from their father. At the launch party for the resort, Bree meets Austin Dugan, local cop on his way to becoming the town’s youngest police chief. Austin and Bree are instantly smitten, but Bree keeps Austin at arms length due to her rule about not dating law enforcement. Of course, that rule eventually gets thrown out the window. The is a great romance with really likable characters. I cannot wait for the rest of Bree’s brothers stories.
Hold on to your hats ...
What a secret to carry around for 13 years. My heart broke for Bree because I could understand why she felt the way she did, even though her thoughts and beliefs are misguided.
I love the romance between Bree and Austin. She was so set against dating anyone good, but she couldn't help throwing herself at him. It was comical and real. The chemistry was there and it wasn't going away. I love how much Austin was willing to do for her. He went and talked to one of the girls from high school that was involved in the incident and without saying anything he was able to get the story from her. And then to arrange the meeting with another girl from high school that was involved in the incident. That is some fierce love, wanting to make sure she understands how misguided her thoughts and beliefs are.
I love the two older ladies in this story who were determined to get Austin to pose in the buff for their charitable calendar. Bree's idea was a great compromise and probably raised more money for more than one charity.
And hold on to your hats for the finale. I cannot wait for the next book.
I found my new book boyfriend!
There’s so much passion in Sergeant Sexypants you can feel it coming off of the pages! As you get to meet more of the half-siblings of Ponderosa Resort you can’t help but wish maybe they were yours too (even if it’s just for access to great wine...). Bree and Austin have an instant attraction that makes you swoon. As they both stumble over their attraction to one another you can’t help but have your heart pull for them all the while trying to figure out what Bree’s dark past is. Sergeant Sexypants is a good lesson in forgiveness for self and allowing others to help pick you up off the ground.
This was such a great story right from the beginning. I read it straight through and will be throwing back coffee for the rest of the day, but it was so worth it!
One of the best books of 2018
I’m not sure what I loved the most about this book! Could it be the witty and hysterical innuendos...“I came to give you a fork.” Maybe it’s the many nicknames Bree has for the super-fine “Hottie Cop” Austin. Then again, any book with the best canine name ever (nope, not telling you, read the book) has to be a winner.
All these things and more make Sergeant Sexypants one of the best books I’ve read this year. Funny, sexy, sweet and surprising (again, no spoilers, read the book), Bree (I don’t date cops) and Austin (by the books officer of the law) are a couple to root for. Hot and sweet at the same time, he’s willing to take it slow and win over the lady. She may protest, but she just can’t resist this charming new lieutenant.
Tawna Fenske has a way with words...one that makes me laugh out loud while I’m swooning like a school girl. I love the vulnerability of her heroine and the hero who safely allows her to be. While I have read and enjoyed books one and two in the Ponderosa Resort series, Bree and Austin are definitely my favorite couple. After you read Sergeant Sexypants, go back and read the others to see if you agree. Either way, you’re in for a very special treat
