Lionheart Thea Harrison Book Review Score: ★★★★★ 5/5 stars

From New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Thea Harrison comes the final story in her spellbinding Moonshadow trilogy…

King Oberon reigned over his Dark Court in Lyonesse for centuries until an assassination attempt laid him low. Now he lies unconscious in his snow-bound palace while his Power battles the enchantment that threatens to end his life.

A skilled trauma surgeon and magic user, Dr. Kathryn Shaw reigns at the top of her profession in New York. Then comes a challenge she can't resist—she is asked to cure the incurable. Just getting close enough to try healing Oberon is a dangerous proposition. When she does reach him, he awakens too soon.

Roused from darkness by Kathryn's presence, Oberon confronts the beautiful stranger who claims she wants to save his life. But the enchantment has frozen his emotions. How can he learn to trust her when he can't feel anything?

Oberon's desire is icy, devoid of all tenderness. Not only must Kathryn match wits with him, she must also fight her reaction to his touch, because there is so much more at stake than her own endangered heart.

For the Dark Court faces its most deadly peril yet. Its ancient enemy Isabeau, Queen of the Light Court, is obsessed with its annihilation, and Oberon must be brought to remember his loyalty and affection for his people.

Because if he won't fight for them, Lyonesse itself may very well be destroyed…

  • Wonderful conclusion

Ms. Harrison has done it again with Lionhart! The third installment of the Moonshadow trilogy focuses on King Oberon and Dr. Kathryn Shaw. Oberon is a smart and intense hero who is complemented by Kathryn’s clever and strong heroine. They have wonderful chemistry together! I immensely enjoyed Lionhart and recommend the complete trilogy to fans.
  • A great ending to the Moonshadow trilogy.

In Lionheart, Kathryn is contracted to help cure King Oberon, who has fallen into a self induced “sleep” to keep him from dying from an assignation attempt. The problem is that his powers have been ravaging the land while he sleeps. His people have scattered and his kingdom will be destroyed if he does not wake up. Kathryn has been a supporting character in many of the Elder Races books and has performed medical miracles in dire situations. Lionheart finally gave the readers a chance to see more of her personality and to learn about her Wyr form (may have been stated in another book, but I could not recall it). It was a pleasure to take a peek inside inside her mind. As a couple, they fit into the classic mold of independent, intelligent heroine and alpha (yet willing to learn) hero. I was a bit thrown off by the “all or nothing” sacrifice that Kathryn had to make just to be in the relationship, but I guess it gave them a conflict to work through. Overall it was a great book that captured my attention and kept me reading until the very end. I was truly disappointed that it ended and would recommend it to any fans of the Elder Races series. Thea Harrison penned yet another great book and I can’t wait to read more books on the Elder Races. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
  • Loved it!

Lionheart is Dr. Kathryn Shaw & Oberon’s story. I love romance themes containing enemies to lovers and this story did not disappoint! It’s compelling from the start with Dr. Shaw playing a strong professional female lead and of course Oberon the strong alpha pushy dominant male. Their chemistry draws you in. A great story that I didn’t want to put down.

I loved Kathryn and Oberon’s story! They’re both strong characters who learn to compromise for their relationship which I found refreshing, though not unexpected in Thea Harrison’s work. I also loved learning more about Robin and his relationship with Oberon. Every book in this series has been a really fun read and this was definitely no exception!

  • A great read!

Lionheart, the third book in Thea Harrison’s Moonshadow series, checks a lot of boxes. The book has a heroine who can handle herself (and saves the day multiple times), a new magical Other land to weave into Ms. Harrison’s other landscapes, and cameos from her Elder series. Also, Puck from the first two books shows up here, and I hope the character continues to appear in other stories. I enjoyed the book and the building of the relationship. Like any reader, I always want more of the story and the second half of the book moves fast. I hope even though this is the final book in the Moonshadow trilogy, we will still get to see these characters grow and evolve.
  • Really enjoyed!

The story was pretty compelling from start to finish. The description of Kathryn's travel to get to Oberon was described so well that I could easily envision the scenery. The storyline was well thought out and I enjoyed the side characters immensely. I loved Kathryn's character. She was a very strong heroine. Smart, respectable and made reasonable decisions which you would expect from a physician. I enjoyed her fights with Oberon. She really stood her ground when it was needed. King Oberon had two faces in this book. You get to see the cold and unfeeling man who is poisoned by magic needle and the Oberon he was before and after the assassination attempt. He was beloved by his people and he loved his people with equal fervor. As a hero, I loved his intensity towards Kathryn. This was so good. I was a bit worried I wouldn't be able to follow along since I haven't read book 1 or 2 but I had no issues at all. You learn right away what happens to King Oberon and why Dr. Kathryn Shaw was needed. Granted, this has just made me want to read the first two books even more. I also loved the appearance from Dragos!
  • Be ready for a wild ride!

    By Jannie3381
The journey into Lyonesse to attempt to heal Oberon begins with a wild ride and it never slows down. Sometimes out of control, always passionate, Kathryn and Oberon move ever onward toward the ultimate goal. Of all their companions along the way, the one I enjoyed the most is Robin, the puck. A soul-satisfying ending!
