The Chase Elle Kennedy Book Review Score: ★★★★★ 5/5 stars
The sexy first book in a new series* from New York Times and international bestselling author Elle Kennedy!
Everyone says opposites attract. And they must be right, because there’s no logical reason why I’m so drawn to Colin Fitzgerald. I don’t usually go for tattoo-covered, video-gaming, hockey-playing nerd-jocks who think I’m flighty and superficial. His narrow view of me is the first strike against him. It doesn’t help that he’s buddy-buddy with my brother.
And that his best friend has a crush on me.
And that I just moved in with them.
Oh, did I not mention we’re roommates?
I suppose it doesn’t matter. Fitzy has made it clear he’s not interested in me, even though the sparks between us are liable to burn our house down. I’m not the kind of girl who chases after a man, though, and I’m not about to start. I’ve got my hands full dealing with a new school, a sleazy professor, and an uncertain future. So if my sexy brooding roomie wises up and realizes what he’s missing?
He knows where to find me.
*The Chase can be read as a standalone novel.

User reviews about this book
I found myself a little bored reading this book, and there were points where I couldn’t wait for it to be over. A lot of the book was unnecessary fluff, which made the book much longer than it needed to be. Again, just okay for me.
i saw so many people reading this so i decided to and it’s literally my favorite book ever
That book feeling!
By the termister
You know that feeling when the part of the book is getting really good and you just need to put it down for a second to prepare yourself for what’s about the come next? Yes, well I did that a lot. I loved this book along with all of the other books it was beautifully written and not cringe at all to read.
I absolutely loved this book. It was one of my favorites from the Campus and Briar series.
Love the characters!
My least favorite of the series
I couldn’t find myself relating to either of the main characters. I wasn’t even rooting for their romance, honestly, I thought the protagonist would be better with someone else (I won’t spoil). I couldn’t find myself relating to the protagonist’s line of thought or supporting her actions. In fact, I was chanting “no, no, no” during many parts of the book. I’m thinking Summer and I just wouldn’t see eye to eye in real life, haha. The writing isn’t bad or anything, some people might really enjoy this, but personally, I just didn’t really like either characters.
I REALLY like the other three installments in this series though, so I’d highly recommend reading those. I started with ‘The Dare’ (one of my favorites) and went from there. You don’t necessarily have to read the stories in order, but reading them chronologically is kind of nice in the sense that you see the characters for the next book introduced and interacting and building tension, in some cases.
Quick Intriguing Read
I absolutely loved this story. There was great descriptions and loved the name choices. I was able to picture this book as a movie in my head while reading it. Very similar to the After series by Anna Todd. I will definitely be reading more of your work. I’d kill to see Summer and Fitzy in real life !!! Great job!!!
Love love loved this book! Would give it more than 5 stars if I could! So intriguing and hard to put down!
Very basic love story.
I don’t normally write reviews, but I thought this book was so good. I loved Summer and her personality. It had a little bit of everything. Highly recommend and may reread it again!
A great book!
