Watch Over Me Kait Nolan Book Review Score: ★★★★★ 5/5 stars

The only thing Rowan Beale ever wanted was to be a cop. But in the wake of her partner’s death, she still hasn’t been cleared to return to duty. Amid rumors of PTSD and struggling under the weight of survivor’s guilt, she’s starting to believe she never will be. Already at loose ends, when her Uncle Robert has a heart attack, she doesn’t hesitate to go to Wishful to take care of him.

Reserve officer Nash Brewer is a born care-taker, so of course he pitches in after his neighbor and mentor has heart surgery. But it’s not just the former Wishful Police Chief who needs his help. Robert’s strong, gutsy niece is hurting and haunted—and someone’s been targeting her. Nash can’t help but fall as he and Rowan investigate, while keeping the secret from her fragile, but sharp-eyed uncle.

When evidence points to Rowan herself as the perpetrator, the former Navy pilot knows in his gut there’s something more going on. But how can he ignore the facts of the case? And how can Rowan stand for one more person to believe she’s unstable, especially the man she wants to trust with her heart?

This is a Wishing for a Hero Novella. You should expect a quick read, a fast-moving adventure in Wishful that's a complete and satisfying story--no cliffhangers here!--and a "happy for now" ending. Grab a glass of sweet tea and enjoy!

I received an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review. Kait Nolan is one of my favorite authors and Watch Over Me is another great read that reenforces that opinion. It’s a short read, but the characters are well defined and relatable. I love that this is a continuation of a series, so you get little things that tie it into the rest of the series. At the same time, it is still a stand alone novel. I am betting that once you read Watch Over Me, you will want to read the rest of the series! The suspense is fun and adds another layer to the plot.

Another great, small town romance from author Kait Nolan. Rowan is a strong, female cop in a male dominated profession. She has a hard time leaning on others because she doesn't want to seem weak. After an unfortunate incident that claimed the life of her partner, Rowan is in desperate need of some time off. She travels to Wishful to care for her uncle who has just had heart surgery. While caring for him she is reunited with Nash, whom she met during a previous visit. Nash helps her to realize she can have allies without being weak. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
  • A manly man and a strong female...

Every girl wants the manly man who can fly a plane and protect her when she needs it, but not every damsel in distress needs rescuing! This book had a strong male lead character (Nash) while allowing the female lead (Rowan) to have a strong personality and job. This was a great book for female empowerment in the 21st century while still allowing the female to be vulnerable enough to fall in love. Nash and Rowan were a perfect match, just waiting for the right timing! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Kait delivers again, another must read wishful romance. Rowan and Nash story is more than a light hearted romance, with a bit of suspense mixed in, which was intriguing . Loved the uncle. My only problem with novella are they’re too short. I love kait’s books and have read almost all of them. Can't wait for the next one. This is a great second book for the Wishing For a Hero series. Rowan can't seem to get past the nightmare of a bust gone bad that resulted in the death of her partner. When the department gives her a mandatory leave at the exact time her uncle needs help while recuperating from heart surgery, she takes off for Wishful to help. Rowan is flown to Wishful by the sexy neighbor of her uncle who is also a reserve officer. It doesn't take long for the sparks to ignite between these two. However, trouble has apparently followed Rowan from Houston, and Nash wants to help her figure out who is trying to cause her to look as if she’s s crazy. Can they find out who it is, or will it prove to be all in Rowans mind? Another great read from Kait Nolan! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
