Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - Parts One and Two: The Official Playscript of the Original West End Production J.K. Rowling, John Tiffany & Jack Thorne Book Review Score: ★★★★★ 5/5 stars

The official playscript of the original West End production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn't much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband, and father of three school-age children.

While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.

The playscript for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was originally released as a 'special rehearsal edition' alongside the opening of Jack Thorne's play in London's West End in summer 2016. Based on an original story by J.K. Rowling, John Tiffany and Jack Thorne, the play opened to rapturous reviews from theatregoers and critics alike, while the official playscript became an immediate global bestseller.

This definitive and final playscript updates the 'special rehearsal edition' with the conclusive and final dialogue from the play, which has subtly changed since its rehearsals, as well as a conversation piece between director John Tiffany and writer Jack Thorne, who share stories and insights about reading playscripts. This edition also includes useful background information including the Potter family tree and a timeline of events from the Wizarding World prior to the beginning of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

I legit never give a bad review, but I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!! It’s crap, literally. I have things i need to say about this book. 1. VOLDEMORT HAS A DAUGHTER!! SINCE WHEN, HE’S VOLDEMORT 2. ALBUS IS SUCH A BRAT!! HE’S ALL “ I’m a Potter in Slytherin, oh no i’m a disgrace “. HE’S SOOOOOOOO ANNOYING!!!! 3. GINNY IS NOT THE KIND OF PERSON THAT WOULD SAY THE D-WORD!! (In my opinion, others might think differently) 4. I DIDN’T EVEN UNDERSTAND WHAT WAS HAPPENING THE ENTIRE STORY!!! I HATE THAT & finally (I think) 5. IT’S JUST ( if i said cuss words, which i don’t) bleeeeeeeeep. That’s what I think. Once again, do not recommend, so don’t read. P. S. I’m not trying to make the author/authors feel bad, i just think it’s crap. P. P. S (i think it’s two p’s) If you make a 9th (plz don’t), make it better. Silverflame (I’m a Warriors, WoF, Harry Potter & Wild Rescuers superfan, i have reviews, OCs, & stories on all of those series) signing out

It’s a great book but it doesn’t make so much sense: 1. Voldemort has... a daughter! Seriously! Voldemort shouldn’t love anyone! He’s... Voldemort! 2. Dumbledore, who is usually kind and understanding, is acting so stuck-up and annoying! What’s up with that?! 3. Why did it have to be a play? Make it a movie and normal book! That’s all the bad things I have to say! Now for the good: IM A CRAZY HARRY POTTER FAN AND IM ALSO A SLYTHERIN! Pls don’t think I’m weird for liking the best house at Hogwarts. I think the cursed child is a very good book. I read it and all the twists and turns were too much for me! I gtg because I have to watch the Deathly Hallows now. Bye! Ps: I’m sure jk Rowling feels so bad becuz of all the criticism you give her. I LIKE THIS BOOK A LOT AND IM STIIL A HUGE FAN OF ROWLING. HATERS BACK OFF BECAUSE JK ROWLING (AND SHANNON MESSENGER, AUTHOR OF KEEPER OF THE LOST CITIES) ARE THE BEST AUTHORS IN THE HISTORY OF AUTHORS!!!!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

My friend and i are big potter fans, but this book is... im sorry to say this but im sure that J.K rowling has written this book just because she needed the money (so is my friend). We didn't expect J.K rowling to end a book by getting married and children and etc. AND HOW IS HARRY POTTER 37!? How is that even possible when he is 11 in the first harry potter book!? Sorry dear writers, i don't want to be rude, and i know how much time you have spent writing this book, but its not even worth A CENT. Why should harry grow up? Why cant he stay a teenager? This isnt real life. No need to grow up, or get married... i dont understand... just tell me WHY!? I didnt expect you... J.K rowling! I thought you were the best writer in the whole world, BUT NOT ANYMORE.😭 Dont spend your precious money for this 🤬🤬🤬 book. I liked the other harry potter series but id rather not to know what happens at the end if harry is a grown-up and adult person... 👎 sorry,... i would rate 0 stars if it was possible.

I just wanted to say to Eric wood this one thing: J.K. Rowling herself helped write this book.

Enjoyed the happy ending, even through these horrible things Harry and the others went through.

I hate this book! So many things made no sense (all timeturners were destroyed)! Albus is just a crybaby and spoilt brat, and I don’t see how Harmonie is minister of magic. The lines and dialogue are really bad (ex: Wow . Skeak. My geekiness is a quivering.) One thing I do like is how the Malfoys are good and that they make me feel bad for Scorpious. But I honestly think that Rowling was in this for the money. (Sorry big Potter fans.) 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👍👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

Why all the haters? This was a fine book. Not as good as the original HP series but I still enjoyed it.
