Bridal Pact Leora Gonzales Book Review Score: ★★★★★ 5/5 stars

RE-PUBLISHED by the author, this is Book One of the Warriors of Phaeton series.

Poppy is bored to tears with her dead-end job and dull life, so when a species of alien warlords arrives on Earth, seeking women to help repopulate their race, why wouldn’t she sign up? She doesn’t care who she’s matched with—until she meets him. Sexy, long-haired, tattoo-sporting and leather-pants-wearing Wheaton.

Diplomat Wheaton expected a cultured Earthling to help in his mission, not some crazy-haired woman named after a flower and whose speech baffles his translator. Pardon my French? Knock it off? But Wheaton is soon smitten and eager to turn Poppy’s good-morning kisses into an all-day affair. Doing the nasty? Bring it on!

But Poppy must do battle with the slimy councilor Demascus, and an extremist group opposed to the Pact. And that’s before a glitch in the Bridal Pact program makes all existing matches invalid, and glossy Hannah, the perfect politician’s wife, arrives on board. Her match: Wheaton.

Note: this book is a RE-RELEASE of a work previously published by Ellora's Cave. The Warriors of Phaeton series is now self-published independently by the author, Leora Gonzales.

User reviews about this book

  • Great Story

    By Jvbamb5455
I've read a few alien books but this is by far the most interesting. This is a totally different storyline with a lot of twists and turns. The characters are funny and endearing. A page turner from beginning to end.
  • Cute

I will say that because the first few chapters are hilarious. When the boring, boring, boring comes, and it will come, you’ll be tempted to DNF. Stay with it. Although the story is longer than it needs to be, with no real point, it is a cute story. I found Poppy to be quite entertaining at times, but there was so much unnecessary head dialogue that I found myself skipping a lot of it. I actually enjoyed all the characters. Poppy and Wheaton were a very cute couple. Although there was a glitch, they were a perfect match. The villain was obvious. No real adventure or action. Mostly relationship drama. Predictable story, but entertaining. Not real sure about the five star ratings, but I do recommend. However, I will not continue the series. Was not too fond of the writing style.
