Cora's Pride Peggy L Henderson Book Review Score: ★★★★★ 5/5 stars

Cora Miller is fiercely independent and stubborn to a fault. Betrayed more than once by men she thought she could trust, she’s learned to rely only on herself. As the oldest of four siblings, she feels responsible for leading her family safely on the Oregon Trail for a new start.

Nathaniel Wilder is no stranger to the hardships and dangers of the wilderness. Raised with his brothers by a trapper in the remote mountains, he left behind the mistakes he’s made in the past. He’s been called reckless and irresponsible, but won’t hesitate to help someone in need.

A foolhardy mishap puts Nathaniel in the direct path of a stubborn, yet beautiful woman with fire in her eyes. Despite her refusal of help, he is determined to prove she can depend on him. When her pride puts her and her family in peril, Cora accepts that she can’t do it on her own. If misgivings can turn to trust, or even love, both Cora and Nathaniel could come out stronger in the end.

The first of the series and really enjoyed it. I like how other characters from some of her other series cross over and mentioned. The way Peggy includes all the family in the story gives us the big picture like we are there!!! Reading about Cora and Nathaniel from both their hearts makes for a very involved reader. Also, reading about Anna’s turmoil and others keeps you wanting more of the story. Love the way Peggy writes. A true escape!

I'm looking forward to reading about Anna in the next installment of this series. This books was simple, sweet & it shown depth in the Cora heart that she can learn to open up & trust again. & that you'll protect your loved ones at all cost. Keep them coming.

Once again, you came through with another great book. I have read all your books and have immersed myself in all of them. This book was fun and in reading it, I am there, part of the story and picturing the gorgeous surroundings. This area of the country is a favorite and I love the way you blend characters from your other books. An excellent read. Well done and highly recommended!!
