After being left at the altar, Jade Roberts seeks solace at her best friend's ranch on the Colorado western slope. Her humiliation still ripe, she doesn't expect to be attracted to her friend's reticent brother, but when the gorgeous cowboy kisses her, all bets are off.

Talon Steel is broken. Having never fully healed from a horrific childhood trauma, he simply exists, taking from women what is offered and giving nothing in return...until Jade Roberts catapults into his life. She is beautiful, sweet, and giving, and his desire for her becomes a craving he fears he'll never be able to satisfy.

Passion sizzles between the two lovers...but long-buried secrets haunt them both and may eventually tear them apart.

  • Beware

    By Gabrielle Gear
It’ll meet your trashy romance fix until the end when the trauma Talon experienced is revealed (you can piece it together)... but then the detail with which it is described is disgusting.

  • Disappointing

Ok for a quick afternoon read, but it is predictable with plot lines and characters we have all seen thousands of times. The characters are shallow, the dialogue is trite, the sex scenes are pedestrian. Comparing this to Outlander as the ads do is ridiculous. The writing is mediocre and there is no historical or social value to this book. I don’t even care how the story ends, so I won’t be wasting my time on the sequels. No wonder the publisher is giving this one away.

This book was sexy, intriguing, and fascinating. I could not stop reading. I’m excited to continue the series. Thank you for writing books that take you to another romantic level.
  • Intriguing

Really enjoyed the story and the added mystery going on. I definitely want to read more and see what happens next. New author for me. Hard time putting down my book at night.
  • Save your time

All they do is have sex, the dialogue feels totally forced and cheesy and porny half the time, the male protagonist (if you can call him that) is a walking, borderline psychotic red flag with major anger issues, the heroine (if you can call her that) is wildly attracted to this dangerous bad boy because of a couple good times in bed and she’s convinced she can be his personal therapist and “fix him.” It’s a trope we’ve seen 10,000 times. And it ends on a cliff hanger so don’t expect resolution in the final chapter

Why would you write about sexual assault of a child in fiction? Sick!

I haven’t read a book in 20 years. Not all the way through on a couple days. This was keeping me up at night reading, waiting to see where Jade and Talon are going to end up. I’m not much paying for books but I must read the next one in this series.
