The first book in The Swordcross Knights: A series of full-length historical romance novels set in the vivid and beguiling world of medieval Britain during the period known as “The Anarchy”.

Forbidden flames burn brightest…

Sir Alric of Hawksmere has endured years of war and survived dozens of battles in the service of his king, but he's unprepared for the new challenge awaiting him at home. Alric discovers the girl he left behind is now a spirited woman of rare beauty whose kiss makes his blood burn. But the lady Cecily de Vere has been offered in marriage to another man, and Alric‘s duty as a knight is to escort her to the wedding.

Cecily is prepared to fulfill her obligation as a proper daughter of a baron. But she yearns for her childhood flame and knows he shares the same desire. When a sudden twist of fortune puts Cecily in mortal danger, Alric takes an unimaginable risk to rescue her. Left alone in the wild, Alric and Cecily must make a choice that will change their lives forever.

Elizabeth Cole has written a delightful book in Honor & Roses. Rich characters, action, believable settings and plot. I highly recommend this fantastic read.
  • Good read

The author did a good job presenting believable story with unexpected plot twists. Low key sex scenes scattered through, with the main character being a little silly but not to the point of annoying.
  • A New Series

I really enjoyed Honor and Roses. The beginning of the story was a little slow. One reviewer accurately called it a gentle introduction. Once the stage is set, the story flows right along. There are some twists and turns along the way, but Cecily and Alaric get their happily ever after. There was no cliffhanger (yay!), but there was enough to make you wonder what will happen next. I look forward to the rest of this series. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
  • I read this book in one sitting

    By Jese6
I read this book in one sitting one night and loved it. I couldn't put it down! The characters and setting jump off the page, Cecily is strong and intelligent. Alric is honorable and protective (but not TOO protective.) When I started reading I immediately thought of "The Diamond Throne" by David Eddings, minus the magical elements - there is no magic or fantasy in "Honor and Roses" but the way the characters and their lives are so beautifully illustrated and their sense of duty... Loved it, all around. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
