Run Girl Eva Hudson Book Review Score: ★★★★★ 5/5 stars

"If you love thrillers, don’t miss this action-packed novella!"

Secretary of State Jayne Whitticker is in London for delicate negotiations when her wayward granddaughter goes missing.

Special Agent Ingrid Skyberg is hauled out of her FBI training session at Scotland Yard to lead the hunt for the 18-year-old. The problem is, Ingrid has only one lead, just a few hours and can't call in the local cops for back-up.

Enjoy the ride as one of the toughest Special Agents ever to come out of Quantico buckles up for her first adventure. Resourceful and tenacious, Ingrid Skyberg is virtually indestructible: she can take whatever her adversaries throw at her and still get up for more.

Run Girl sets the scene for Ingrid’s future adventures working out of the US embassy in London. If an American citizen lands in trouble… or winds up dead… or gets accused of a crime they didn’t commit, Special Agent Ingrid Skyberg is on their case.

The first instalment in an up-all-night crime thriller series—perfect for fans of strong female protagonists who like a little romantic intrigue on the side.

Please note: Run Girl is a novella - roughly half the length of an average novel. The second book in the series, Fresh Doubt, is a full length novel and is available now. Or grab a bargain: buy the Ingrid Skyberg FBI Thrillers box set and get the next three novels in the series at a massive discount.

"A brilliantly-paced thriller... Perfectly balanced between character and plot. Very gripping and suspenseful" - Sophie Hannah
"It immediately draws you in... there's suspense right from the beginning" - Penny Smith
"Great dialogue" - Mark Billingham

After years of enjoying thrillers and police procedurals by authors like Lee Child and Michael Connelly, Eva was inspired to write thrillers herself. In 2011 she won the inaugural Lucy Cavendish fiction prize for her first novel, The Loyal Servant. The first Ingrid Skyberg adventure was published in 2013 and she never looked back.

User reviews about this book

  • Disappointing & dull

    By Moonspin
The plot could have been deeper with real suspense. Was that really all there was to the story? The dynamic between the main character & the handsome coworker worked but story line could only take them so. I’m not left wanting to read anything else by the author. Sorry 😬

The story was not what I expected! It was well written and a fairly good read but I was disappointed how a girl could out wit a FBI agent so easily

Did the author really have to call Republicans uniformed and stupid? I’m one and quite frankly I can’t believe you the gall to call us that. Can’t stand the liberal mindset. Talk about uniformed! Really bad choice of topic. Do you really equate dating a republican with bringing home a black guy to dinner? Anything to piss off the parents? Not reading any more of the trash you write

    I like it ya yams
  • Too Boring

    By Rxnjsquir
The characters lacked interest and the plot was unrealistic. The overblown descriptions are reminiscent of a middle school student trying to meet the required number of words on a writing assignment. The reader response was "who cares?" I did not care enough to finish it.
  • Fast paced, maintains interest, but logic problems exist

    By Ochrequills
I read this in about 4 hours. There are issues with the basis of the urgency of the problem which serves as the mcguffin of the story line. I also see sexist elements in the characters drawn and their responses. But the plot is fast paced and does not get bogged down anywhere. It does reveal a genuine enjoyment of London. I like the problem solving process. It is a fine distraction of a read.
