    Great read! I laughed a good bit due our similarities in certain situations. Myself, I have been dealing with anxiety since returning home from Afghanistan. It has always been something that I avoided. Whenever I would get in a situation where I felt anxious, I would immediately leave my environment. My friends and family were under the impression that I did not enjoy being around them, but in actuality, I was afraid of freaking out in front of them. Like yourself, I did not tell anyone outside my parents and significant other. After reading the first few chapters, the first thing I did was inform my best friend and supervisor about my issue and I was instantly relived. Since then, I have faced my monkey head on. I’ve made a lot of progress since then, but I still have a long way to go. This book definitely inspired me to make those baby steps and push myself to do something I never thought I could do.

    I've been dealing with my anxiety/depression for close to 15 years and this has put me in a place I never thought I'd be. By referring to my anxiety as "my monkey" has been a game changer. Doctors definitely serve a great purpose in the diagnosis and medical treatment of anxiety, but reading it from a person that's walked the walk is very helpful. Thank you!
