Cruel Justice M A Comley Book Review Score: ★★★★★ 5/5 stars

The woods held secrets…

…and a headless body.

It’s not the only one.

When the news broke, it was chaos. With the two best detectives on the case, there were sure to be some answers. At least that was the hope. They’re stumped. And people are scared.

DI Lorne Simpkins is getting bad vibes on this one. She can’t shake the feeling that she’s being watched. Are they dealing with a serial killer or are there two murderers on the loose?

Now she and her partner are besieged on all sides by the press, their new boss, and every person they see on the streets.

People want answers.

Nobody is happy with how it’s going…

…especially not the person who sent her the most frightening letter she’s ever read.

You won’t believe the twists and turns in this thriller. Get ready to turn pages until well past your bedtime. This one’s addictive.

Get it now.

Only problem with this series is I can’t always read before bed as the suspense will keep me awake, so I have to switch to something else and finish reading in the morning with coffee.

This Author spins a mystery masterfully. Her characters are developed and continue to develop as the story smoothly moves forward to a fruitful ending. The story never feels rushed, but builds. Career choices land the main character in many different and diverse life situations, and affects all aspects of not only her own life but every life that interacts with hers. Lovely writing. Fun read.

Hard to put down. Lorne is such a relatable character. Loved reading this book. Will definitely read the next ones.

Well written book about broken people. No one in the book is really a hero without damage. There is one sex scene and sexual components to the story. The police get their murderer in the end, but it was a very unsatisfactory story. There was just to much damage in the lives of every adult in the book.
  • A great book, a real page turner!!!

This is a riveting book full of twists and turns that keeps the reader wanting more and more. Masterfully written...the author never really lets you in on the secrets of the characters until it's time!! A great book, highly recommended!!!
  • Good Plot

I read mysteries extensively, mostly by British and Scandinavian authors. They have great plots AND they are beautifully written. This was a good book in that it kept my attention. But the writing itself is just so-so and the plot itself gets a little bogged down when the author tries to throw in a romantic sideline that basically goes nowhere. If you just want a quick read and a little escape, this book is for you. I enjoyed it and will probably read another one by this author sometime in the future.

It is a decent book. The end is suppose to grab your attention I guess but to me it's senseless. I won't buy the rest of the series.
