The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian Sherman Alexie Book Review Score: ★★★★★ 5/5 stars

Bestselling author Sherman Alexie tells the story of Junior, a budding cartoonist growing up on the Spokane Indian Reservation. Determined to take his future into his own hands, Junior leaves his troubled school on the rez to attend an all-white farm town high school where the only other Indian is the school mascot.

Heartbreaking, funny, and beautifully written, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian, which is based on the author's own experiences, coupled with poignant drawings by Ellen Forney that reflect the character's art, chronicles the contemporary adolescence of one Native American boy as he attempts to break away from the life he was destined to live.

With a forward by Markus Zusak, interviews with Sherman Alexie and Ellen Forney, and four-color interior art throughout, this edition is perfect for fans and collectors alike.

Sherman Alexis has created sheer poetry. I have read it several times, and will undoubtedly read it again someday. Beautiful- equal parts hilarity and heartbreaking.

Quick and easy read. It teaches people how to stand up for what they believe in, and follow their dreams. Loved the characters and writing style. Definitely not appropriate for anyone under 13.

Well you see here, this is an amazing thing in regards as it is a book. It has a clear beginning, middle, and an ending that resolves something. Some of the characters undergo a change. And a lot of people die. The story is whiten my someone called Sherman Alexie, who is an author. There are pictures in the book that show things instead of words. The chapters are clearly stated, and the pages are numbered. In the end, it is a book.

Loved reading it! Took only a day to finish, I was so hooked. It was hilarious, compelling and tragic; that I started to read his other novels and poems. :)
