User reviews about this book
All who read this and want it to be the truth personally enjoy the darkness and want to stay there. Humble yourself... Deception at its finest in the end of days. Check all the fallacies in this book. Take a quick minute to google.
Has many faults much like the Big Bang
I read the book 4 times. Once in 10th grade (about 8 years ago) and I thought it was the groundbreaking science that actually disproves organized religion. Since then I have read 3 more times and have found that his knowledge on thing such as chemistry, physics, geology, psychology, etc. are sub par. He has many faults in his arguments and much of the book is exactly like the bible, where he kind of shrugs his shoulders and states his own personal beloved that have not been tested or approved. He says that an infinite number of planets and an infinite number of universes that there has to be life in one of them. That is his best case for the beginning of life. If he wanted to write a better book he should have teamed up with people from other fields. Poor science but his delivery is great. He should give up science and pursue a career as an author instead. He's better at that than at actual science

love this book
the best book in our century
Top 3 most important books ever written on this topic. I still get baffled when I discuss religion with a theist (talk about being insecure) every triumph or accomplishment they obtain is mostly, if not entirely, attributed to god and his grace -essentially vacating all of their individual time and effort spent of the achievement to something that cannot even remotely be considered real! Anyways, read this book!
“The Most Gripping Case for Atheism Yet”
Where there is a Sam Harris who epitomizes New Atheism, there is Richard Dawkins, the brilliant evolutionary biologist who fathered the movement. An endeared man of science and education, Richard is regarded as the "undisputed leader of atheism", and for good reason. His book has been effective in changing the landscape of theology and religion, and it remains as a hot topic of discussion amongst believers and skeptics nearly a decade after its release.
Rather you read this book with an open mind or not, one can not deny the logic and facts found in its material. Like a true biologist, Dawkins does an excellent job of dissecting and analyzing the merits of God and religion. He brilliantly picks apart all but the most close-guarded arguments used by theists. And he leaves no room for error, being sure to address all aspects from the mechanism of prayer and "devine experiences" to pseudoscience and bible fallacy. Plenty of citation and references are given to validate his argument and assertions, and much space is given for rhetoric, wit, and humor.
What I love most about this book however, is that in many ways it changed my life. I discovered this book at age 17, during a time in which I was already 4 years a closet atheist due to my fear of punishment and ridicule from my highly religious family and the general public. But after reading this book, I was empowered and I gained the courage to embrace my inner skeptic and question the invisible sky daddy. I'm 22 now and it is because of the author and his work that i have since acquired a newfound appreciation for science and an urge to learn more. I now regard this book as an essential for higher learning and critical thinking, and I recommend it to anyone seeking knowledge and truth. It's honestly one of the best pieces of literature you'll ever read!
Everyone should read this book.
I am so glad I found this book and ditched all my religious hallucinations! What was I thinking?? Richard Dawkins brought to light so many new ideas I hadn't considered. Makes the Bible look like a poorly written comic book. I feel I've wasted so much of my life practicing Christian rules. What a bunk! No more of that crap. Thank you, Richard!!
I loved this book. I am not nearly as educated as him or really anyone else that are the reviews but I enjoyed it. Before the book I was very unsure. After reading it, I'm definitely a 6 on his scale. Great read. Definitely recommend!
