User reviews about this book
quick and amusing read
This was a quick and interesting read. If you have a free saturday and don't mind a few moments where its hard to suspend disbelief this is an entertaining and slightly humorous romp :)
One of the best books of the year !!!
The Rook is an impeccably-written story that mixes the real and supernatural in perfect proportions.
I literally avoided work for a full day in order to finish reading this book. It was worth taking a sick day.
Unique, funny, and well-written
Great writing with an interesting premise and a likeable protagonist. Funny too.
I liked it
It was a fun ride, I hope to read more
I loved this book!
Great characters, a unique story, would love to read the sequel if and when it is written. I did find the story getting bogged down sometimes, the pacing a bit off, but it ends big and fast, you won't be disappointed.
Completely engrossing, this book enthralled me from the first paragraph. I read a fair amount and this is the best book I've read in quite a while. The back stories and character developments are revealed alongside the plot developments in a very well written tale that has made me long for another book from this author. The premise of the story was unique and as you start out discovering everything alongside the main character, her identity and why she's in danger; demanded my attention.
I've already recommend this book to several of my friends and will continue to do so.
Quirky, but a definite page-turner!

This has been one of the most fun reads I've done in a while. I pray there will be a squel.
The Rook delivers.
The Rook is fast paced, funny, and thoroughly entertaining. The only criticism is the ending. I think there are multiple endings (perhaps the author wasn't sure about how to end the book) but that is okay. I hope this becomes a series. Read it!
