The Graveyard Book Neil Gaiman Book Review Score: ★★★★★ 5/5 stars

Neil Gaiman's perennial favorite, The Graveyard Book, has sold more than one million copies and is the only novel to win both the Newbery Medal and the Carnegie Medal. Bod is an unusual boy who inhabits an unusual place—he's the only living resident of a graveyard. Raised from infancy by the ghosts, werewolves, and other cemetery denizens, Bod has learned the antiquated customs of his guardians' time as well as their ghostly teachings—such as the ability to Fade so mere mortals cannot see him.

Can a boy raised by ghosts face the wonders and terrors of the worlds of both the living and the dead?

The Graveyard Book is the winner of the Newbery Medal, the Carnegie Medal, the Hugo Award for best novel, the Locus Award for Young Adult novel, the American Bookseller Association’s “Best Indie Young Adult Buzz Book,” a Horn Book Honor, and Audio Book of the Year.

This must be one of my favorite books I've read this year. This book tells a good tale about a young child that grew up in a grave yard learning to do and see things only ghosts are supposed to do. I think every one who likes action and adventure and murder mystery books will love this book.
  • Great for adults... Not for kids

The Graveyard Book is a deep and sweet book.... For adults. My child read this as a summer reading and had nightmares for several weeks. Now if your child likes scary books, then this book would be good. But all though it gets good at the end, it scared my child to the point where they had to sleep with a lamp on. Sometimes my child would wake up afraid of this book. Reading that book for me was amazing- and horrifying. If I was a kid I would have been scared to death. My kid still can not drive by a graveyard without freaking out. I don't blame them. It is not meant for children. Over all it's a good book for adults, but not for children.
  • Even I liked it.

I am not much into the whole undead scene. The writing was so good however that I completely enjoyed it. I would not have even read it except an excerpt was included in a book of short stories I was reading. I fell in love with the character and setting and enjoyed spending more time there.
  • Pretty darn rad

I am in 8th grade and I first read this book in 5th grade for a program at my school called "Battle of the books". I have read this book every year since then. I love this book so much and I recommend it to 4th-8th grade!

I've read this book twice. The first time I wasn't aware that it was a young reader book. It is a timeless story; sweet, exciting, layered.....
