The Exception Sandi Lynn Book Review Score: ★★★★★ 5/5 stars

I grew up wealthy and was given everything my parents wanted me to have.  After years of being molded into the perfect daughter, I played a role. I was only what they wanted me to be. My parents controlled everything. My life, my friends, and even the man I was supposed to marry. When I stood in front of the mirror and looked at myself, the person looking back was a total stranger. Leaving my fiancé at the altar on my wedding day was the start of a journey I embarked on in search of the person that I truly was. I would disappear, vanish, and start a new life where, little by little, I would unmold the person everybody thought I was. I would live in a man-free zone for as long as my journey took me. NO EXCEPTIONS. Until I met a man with dark hair, a business suit, smoldering eyes, and a face like a god—Drew Westbrook.

I had everything I wanted in life. Money, looks, success, and beautiful women by my side at all times. Some of these women stayed around for a while and some left quickly. I was all for a relationship as long as she wasn’t looking for a ring or wanting to hear the words “I do.” I liked the way I lived my life and I was content. Plenty of friends, loving parents, and a successful billion-dollar company were all I needed to feel complete. NO EXCEPTIONS. Until the day a brown-haired, blue-eyed beauty sat down next to me on an airplane and, suddenly, everything that mattered to me didn’t seem to matter anymore. She captivated me and I wanted her. All of her. But her journey didn’t include me and I was left feeling something I’d never felt before: incomplete.

I've always liked Sandi Lynn but this book is as awesome as the Black series. I've read it in one day as I can't just put it down. I loved the characters and also the story. I would recommend this book if you like romance.

I absolutely love this story of Jillian and Drew. In the quest of finding her selfJillian found love, safety and protection in Drew. Whereas, Drew was able to find love for the first time and stability in Jillian. This was a match made pin heaven.
  • Great story line. Horrible writing.

I couldn't even finish reading this book and I was stuck in a plane with nothing better to do. Very repetitive. I kept feeling like a child was recounting events to me.
  • Great beach read!

Every time I read your books, I'm just excited. It is always my pleasure to read your stories, I love the characters, their story lines and most of all that Conner makes it somewhere in the story. Thank you. Now Drew and Jillian. were adorable, can you please write a story about there life married. Can the be the next Black Family. Okay maybe asking for too much. But I love them and didn't want this book to end. 5 Stars.

I have read every single book Sandi has put on iTunes. Being said this is my favorite. She has never wrote a "bad book"but the emotional connection and the way the characters connected was amazing. I do not want to spoil this for anyone so all I can say is if you have read her books before you know she won't disappoint. If you are new to Sandi Lynn's books then this is a great way to start!!!! Thank you once again Ms. Lynn for an outstanding read!!!
  • Fantastic book!!

The Exception is my favorite Sandi Lynn book so far and believe me I've read and love them all. That is how good this book is. I haven't been able to get Drew and Jillian out of my mind since finishing this book. Jillian comes from a life of wealth and privilege. One would think she had it all. In reality, all she wanted was to find herself. She's had no control or say anything in her life until the day she walks away from it all. I love Jillian's determination to find out who she is. She was going to live in a man free zone and live for herself with no exceptions. That is until her journey to self discovery brings her into the path of one of the most genuine and caring men. I immediately swooned when Drew entered the picture. This is a man who works hard for his money and is so giving and kind to those around him. He had a loving family and great friends and thought his life was complete. Jillian coming into his path made him question how complete his life was. Fate plays a big hand in this book and it is magical. If you are looking for an arrogant and cocky leading man, then this book isn't for you. But, if you want to fall in love with a strong, sexy man who wants nothing more than to love and support those he care about then get this book today!
