Cocky Bastard Penelope Ward & Vi Keeland Book Review Score: ★★★★★ 5/5 stars

From New York Times Bestsellers, Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland, comes a sexy new standalone novel.

He was someone who belonged in my wildest fantasies instead of a rest stop in the middle of Nebraska.

A sexy, cocky, Australian named Chance was the last person I expected to run into on my cross-country drive.
When my car broke down, we made a deal. Next thing I knew, we were traveling together, spending sexually-tense nights in hotels and taking unplanned detours.

My ordinary road trip turned into the adventure of a lifetime. It was all fun and games until things got intense.

I wanted him, but Chance wouldn’t make a move. I thought he wanted me too, but something was holding him back.

I wasn’t supposed to fall for him, especially when I knew we’d be going our separate ways.
All good things must come to an end, right?

Except our ending was one I didn’t see coming.

Beautifully written, beautifully crafted. The way you fall first for Aubrey, then Chance... oh god, amazing!

I enjoyed this book a lot. It was definitely a funny book. The storyline was interesting, but a bit frustrating at times. I definitely wasn't expecting Chance's twist, that threw me for a loop. I liked that we got both Chance and Aubrey's perspectives during the book. I really like Chance. He's a bit of a mystery at first, but he's a hoot and definitely knows how to use his charm. I liked being in his head and everything that he does for Aubrey. I liked Aubrey too just not as much, which is pretty standard for me. She's a bit reserved at first, but Chance helps her to be her true self and do what she actually wants to do in life. I love Pixy and that whole storyline, it was hilarious! I didn't always like everything that happens in part 2, but it all has to happen to get them to where they are in the end. I thought the ending was cute, but I would have liked even more. Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland did a great job writing a really good book together!

Cocky Bastard!!!! I want to really all I want to do is add a million more explanation point behind that title. This was the first read for me for Penelope Ward and the Second for VI Keeland. To be honest I don't know why i have not been reading more of their books. Holy Smokes its good. This story follows the crazy road trip with Audrey and Chance. This is no ordinary road trip i have to tell you. Audrey is on a cross-country road trip well actually moved from Chicago to California. She is need of a change and she is hoping that this is going to be it for her. What she didn't expect is her world is going to change. She meets a very interesting man in the middle of know where Nebraska and he changes her whole world from that point on. Chance is just your average Aussie soccer player and had the looks that go with it. Now that he is back home in the states and no longer playing due to an accident he can't play any longer. Chance has some secrets but he is not going to let that spoil his fun with the time he has left. When the two meet at the gas station in Nebraska you think oh man this guy is just a cocky bastard just like the title says. But to be honest he just says whats on his mind and really has no filter. Their journey starts out when karma just really smacks them both in the face. First with him than with her. It really funny to be honest with you. I love the banter that they have, mostly coming from him. They come together on the crazy road trip so they both can get back to California. Of course Chance is not really in a big hurry to get back to California. The sexual tension is just over the top. He is always right there with some witty comment that leaves her speechless. One of my favorite parts in the book is the Goat. Yes I just said that one of my favorite parts in the book is the Goat. This is no random Goat, see it is a blind Goat that is tied to a fence on the side of the road. The Goat becomes like their child from that point on. Normally I don't really like to give to mush away in a review but I'm breaking that for the Goat. It really is a super funny part in the book, and stays throughout the book. After a blissful night in Vegas feelings grow really strong between the both of them and the its all over in a flash. They next day has Aubrey wondering about her self and where chance is. Now there are two parts of this book. Part two is when you see the sweet side of Chance and the venerable side of Aubrey. It is two years later, what two years!!! Yep two years and you find out what is really been going on with Chance. Once he is back he is determined to get back what he has been missing. He seeks out Aubrey and the rest is history. It becomes bitter-sweet and make you feel like crying. No not because it is sad but it like oh he loves her. I kinda was hoping for the boom box over the head scene from sixteen candles but her is manly Aussie soccer player that doesn't happen. But what he does do is take care of everything for her and even buys her coffee every morning. This is a great book. I really enjoyed reading it. The book is written like I said in two parts the first her point of view and the second is his. I always love when there are two points of view, you really get into the characters. You really need to read this book and i know that you will enjoy it.
